Description
|
This course involves a broad range of specialised knowledge and skills in varied contexts to undertake skilled work within a train driving environment.
It covers the skills, knowledge and requirements for participants to undertake operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of locomotive power and air brake systems.
Locomotive start up, operation, shut down and stabling procedures are also covered in the practical sessions.

| Requirements |
- Applicant must be employed as a qualified Locomotive Driver’s Assistant
- Currently qualified in All Systems Working or Safeworking systems relevant to the Rail Operators routes.

Plain casual clothing, enclosed shoes. |

| Assessment |
On completion of the theory component you will be issued an “On the Job Work Book” to complete the practical assessments in an operational workplace.
Facilitation is typically delivered by the trainers in an experiential training situation by the companies’ own trainers.

| Completion |
On completion, provided all assessments have been assessed competent, a Statement of Attainment will be issued. |
