Course Description
|
The Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure comprises 16 units of competence to be completed prior to issue of full certification. To be eligible for Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure workers must undertake training in the mandatory 8 units, plus an additional 8 units selected from the TLI2315 training package. The units chosen are usually aligned with the workers current industry role however, an number of options are available and can be customised to suit operational requirements as follows: Group A Track Work + 3 Electives (covers track worker, installer and maintainer)
Plus 3 x Electives, typically chosen from:
Group B Structures + 4 Electives (covers structures maintainer)
Plus 4 x Electives, typically chosen from:
Group C Track Surfacing + 3 Electives (covers plant/mobile plant operators and permanent way drivers)
Or
Plus 3 x Electives,3 typically chosen from:

| Duration |
The variables in unit selection and workers experience affects the course duration. Typically, an experienced industry worker who can provide supervisor's reports and references as supporting evidence should complete the course in 1-2 days as a gap assessment pathway. A less experienced or entry level worker may require 10-12 days to complete theory and practical combined or 3-12 months in the field. NB: Discounts can be offered for groups of 6 or more |

You may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) which by providing evidence of your work experience, previous training, references and/or other evidence you may be awarded individual units of competence, skill sets or qualification via a Gap Assessment Pathway.
